Lynn McDonald is the Director of the Institute for Life Course and Aging at the University of Toronto. She is also the Scientific Director of NICE (National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly), a network of researchers, practitioners, students, and seniors dedicated to improving the care of older adults throughout Canada and abroad. Dr. McDonald earned both her Bachelor of Psychology and Masters of Social Work at the University of Manitoba, and her Doctorate of Sociology at the University of Calgary. Her primary area of research revolves around the social aspects of aging with focus on the improvement of caregiving and economical resources, and the creation of social change in the areas of elder abuse, poverty, ethnicity, and social work.
